Tanzania's Minister for Communications, Angellah Kairuki, has launched Phase Two of TTCL's Faiba Mlangoni Kwako fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) project, targeting 400,000 additional home passes after Phase One reached 280,000. Tanzania's internet subscriptions have reached 62.8 million, though fixed fibre home connections stand at only 178,904.
